Tim Vogt
Executive Director
Qualifications: Tim has 11 years of experience working with people with disabilities and six years of management, fundraising and coordinating experience. Tim received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Northern Kentucky University and is currently working toward a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership at the College of Mount Saint Joseph.
Tim loves working at Starfire because “I really enjoy getting to know all the members and volunteers. And the staff always amaze me with their dedication and make Starfire a fun place to work.”

Lynn Thesing
Director Emeritus
Qualifications: Lynn has 11 years of top level management and fundraising experience in both non-profit and corporate environments. Lynn has a Bachelors Degree in Social Service from the University of Cincinnati, and over 85 graduate hours in Business Administration, Management, Health Promotion, Marketing, and Organizational Management.
During her four years at Starfire, she has led the organization through a strategic planning process that addresses the emerging needs of people with disabilities in the community and has developed additional revenue streams for the organization. In addition to her commitment to Starfire, Lynn serves on the Advisory Board for the Cincinnati Parks and has volunteered in fundraising efforts for Mercy Health Partners.
Lynn loves working at Starfire because “Starfire represents all the important things in life...friendship, love, laughter, an opportunity to learn and give back. These are the great gifts in life and without Starfire, many people with disabilities would not have the opportunity to enjoy them. I have also received so much from interacting with the members….My social network is now ten times larger!

Lauren Able
Volunteer and Events Coordinator
Qualifications: Lauren has 8 years of experience working with people with disabilities and started out at Starfire as a volunteer in 2003. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Southampton College in Long Island, NY.
Lauren is excited to be working at Starfire because "it gives me an opportunity to help people with disabilities as well as the chance to raise awareness in the community about the need for Starfire.”

Gio Boeing
Program Coordinator, Teen and Young Adult Programs
Qualifications: Gio has 23 years of experience working with both teens and adults with disabilities. Gio has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati.
Gio loves Starfire because “our outings make a real difference in the lives of our members and help educate the community about the ABILITIES of individuals with disabilities.”

Kateri Kosta
Program Coordinator, Adult Programs
Qualifications: Kateri started volunteering with people with disabilities in 1993. She started working at Starfire in the Out & About program, where she gained a great deal of experience serving people with disabilities. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English from Xavier University.
Kateri enjoys working at Starfire because “the organization has such a strong commitment to quality of life for people with disabilities. It is an opportunity to get to know some amazing people, and to work with visionaries who have the enthusiasm and dedication to make Starfire the best resource possible for our community.”
Helen Gentry
Office Manager
Qualifications: Helen has over three years of business experience. She has her degree in Biblical Studies with a Professional Core in Management and Ethics from Cincinnati Christian University.
Helen likes working at Starfire because "because it is a life-affirming organization which celebrates the lives of
individuals by seeking to discover and draw out the gift that exists inside of
each and every person, whether they are a member, volunteer, or staff."

Marquita Kirkland
Program Coordinator, Out & About Adult Day Program
Qualifications: Marquita has three years of experience working with teens and adults with disabilities. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Johnson C. Smith University.
Marquita loves working at Starfire because “Everyone has such a great attitude and I enjoy being a part of an organization that makes noticeable noble differences in people’s lives.”
Bridget Lynd
Program Assistant, Out & About Day Program
Qualifications: Bridget has 10 years of experience working with people with disabilities. She has a degree in Special Education from Xavier University.
Bridget loves working at Starfire because “I get to help people enjoy
life and excel at what they are good at versus trying to make them
conform to what others think their limitations should be.”
John Myres
Program Assistant, Out & About Day Program
Qualifications: John has 10 years of experience working with people with disabilities and started out at Starfire as a volunteer. He received a degree in Natural Resources from Hocking College
John is happy to be working with Starfire because it "gives me a chance to get out with the members and try new things. I also get to help people do what they might not have thought possible before attending Starfire."
Christy Boiman
Program Assistant, Out & About Day Program
Qualifications: Christy has seven years of experience working with people with disabilities. She received a degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the College of Mount Saint Joseph.
Christy enjoys working at Starfire because she is "surrounded by people who share a similar passion and drive to continually make a difference in the lives of others."
Shain Miller
AmeriCorps Volunteer, Out & About Adult Day Program
Qualifications: Shain has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Dayton and is also leading evening and weekend outings for Starfire members.
