Tim Vogt
Executive Director
Qualifications: Tim has 12 years of experience working with people with disabilities and seven years of management, fundraising and coordinating experience. Tim received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Northern Kentucky University and is currently working toward a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership at the College of Mount Saint Joseph. Tim enjoys blogging about Starfire and the world of people with disabilities. Check out his blog at http://cincibility.blogspot.com.

Lauren Able
Director of Development
Qualifications: Lauren has 12 years of experience working with people with disabilities and started out at Starfire as a volunteer in 2003. Prior to her current position, Lauren served as the Volunteer and Events Coordinator as well as an outing leader. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Southampton College in Long Island, NY.

Gio Boeing
Program Coordinator, Teen and Young Adult Programs
Qualifications: Gio has 28 years of experience working with both teens and adults with disabilities. She has been a part of Starfire since 1987. Gio has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati.

Helen Gentry
Office Manager
Qualifications: Helen has over three years of business experience outside of Starfire. She joined the Starfire team in March of 2008.  She has her degree in Biblical Studies with a Professional Core in Management and Ethics from Cincinnati Christian University.

Marquita Kirkland
Program Coordinator, Out & About
Qualifications: Marquita has worked with teens and adults with disabilities since 2005.  Marquita has been with Starfire since January 2007. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Johnson C. Smith University.

Bridget Lynd
Program Assistant and Staff Trainer
Qualifications: Bridget has 10 years of experience working with people with disabilities at Starfire. In that time, she has worked with the evening and weekend programs, created the CITY program, and developed and coordinated the Out & About day program.  She now spends time working with Starfire U and the Out & About program.  Bridget majored in Special education at Xavier University.  She lives in Kentucky with her husband and two sons.

John Myres
Program Assistant, Out & About Day Program
Qualifications: John has 10 years of experience working with people with disabilities. He started out at Starfire as a volunteer after receiving a degree in Natural Resources from Hocking College.

Krista Clinebell
Starfire U Coordinator
Qualifications: Krista earned her Bachelor’s in Special Education and Elementary Education in 1999 from Xavier University.  In 2006, she earned her Master’s of Education, also from Xavier.  After teaching for seven years in Special Education, she joined Starfire as the Program Coordinator of Starfire U in 2008.  Starfire U will grow by 25 students each year and Krista is determined to create natural and empowering experiences for young adults living with disabilities.  She works hard to continue to expand the program, and to expand others’ thinking about people with disabilities.

Candice Jones
Seminar Instructor
Qualifications: Candice is a 2007 graduate of Xavier University.  She is finishing her Masters degree in Educational Studies at the University of Cincinnati, focusing on social learning in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.  As a lifetime Cincinnatian, Candice loves collaborating with community partners to create and offer inclusive activities for Starfire U members.  Candice enjoys researching the unique and educational resources that Cincinnati has to offer.  She is proud to have been a part of the first year of Starfire U, and looks forward to helping it continue to grow in the future.

Chris Bruewer
ACE/OASIS Coordinator
Chris has over 11 years experience working with people with disabilities. She earned undergraduate degrees in English and Psychology from Miami University as well as a Master’s in Religion from the Athenaeum of Ohio/St. Mary’s Seminary. Chris began working with Starfire in 1988 as the coordinator for the adult program when it was first launched. Chris enjoys working at Starfire because of “the members. They are wonderful to be around and I enjoy their company. I love doing things with them and the other staff that work here.”

Rachel Mecklenborg
Volunteer and Events Coordinator
Rachel started working at Starfire in 2009 after graduating from Marietta College in Southeastern Ohio. She double majored in International Business and Economics.

Rachel loves working at Starfire because, “Every day I have the privilege to meet and be around some of the most inspiring individuals I know.  The members of Starfire have such a contagious, positive outlook on life.  The staff at Starfire really want the best for the members and are always creating new and unique ways to improve the lives of people with disabilities.  Starfire is a truly inspirational place to work.”
